I am currently building this website and working towards making it fully assessible to WCAG 2.2, AA standards.

What web accessibility is

An accessible website allows visitors with specific needs to browse with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors without those needs. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system operating the website, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

I have adapted this site to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, I have:

  • used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues

  • set the language of the site to English

  • defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • added alternative text to images

  • implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • reduced the use of motion on the site

  • ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site have captions and transcripts

  • used a dyslexia and low vision friendly font colour, style and size

I am working on:

  • the ability for users to zoom in to 200% without the need for assistive technology

  • the layout across a range of screen sizes

  • an accessible cookie compliance banner
